Hey Sharon! First of all thanks for your time to answer my questions and I hope to meet you in person someday when you will come to Greece for a live show! So I want to take the things from the begging and slowly! How are you this period?
I am great! feeling happy that my album is out and traveling around now to promote it.
I want your opinion about Greece of course! You have been here many times as I know. What do you like the most?
I love the Greek food and sun of course! It’s a beautiful country where I always feel very welcome.
So first lets talk of course about your new album. “Cheap smell”. Why this title for an album and of course why it took you 3 years for a new one? I think you search a lot about your music before you make a move.
Because the title cheap Smell tells the story of the past 3 years, a cheap smell (cheap perfume) that doesn’t stay very long and disappears.. the album is about people leaving and coming in and out of my life and the journey to really get to know myself better.
This album contains 15 songs if im not mistaken! And of course we have until now 3 singles. “Black Spider” “it’s the weekend” and the new one “mama papa”. We see you really changed on the video clips. I want you to tell me some info about those three tracks.
Black spider is about wanting a change but being trapped in visual circle. Mama en papa is about the relationship between me and my parents. And the weekend is about celebrating the weekend the way you like the most.
Do you afraid of changes? And if not afraid of changes what is that you afraid most in life?
I embrace changes.. Changes always make me more aware of what I like and what suits me..
So we continue our interview… And of course I have to ask you about “My Love”.. Big hit. Is ok to be only 28 and to have on you this success?
I am really thankful that my first song I ever released “my love” did so well.. it gave me a great jumpstart. It was a bit surreal when it all happened. Writing my own songs means a lot to me.. To write about my own experiences good and bad and how I feel about things. It’s an important way to express my own feelings and feels necessary to do so.
Do you have patience? I’m asking you these because I want to know you better! I want to know more about your character.
I am as a person very impatient.. but I learned in music you have to be very patient.
What you like to do during your day?
During the day I am always busy with Kovacs.. doing interviews, Foto shoots, promo’s, radio, rehearsals, meetings and then also of course my own daily tasks cooking, washing, my emails and so on.. :)
And lasts questions… You have been all over the world for shows, lives etc. Tell me a special memory that you cant forget! During a live, during a tour… One “bad” and one that you laugh very much.
One bad one is ones we had a gig in Holland and we had a few already that week and everybody was getting ill or already ill and there was a big storm at the moment we had to play and we couldn’t do our show anymore in the end. And good memories there are many :) One definitely is my show with Robbie Williams at Rockwave festival that was really amazing! From the stage you had one of the most amazing views I ever had of a mountain and there where a lot of people and my parents where there and we Watched all together the show of Robbie Williams! It was a very magical & inspiring day
And If you have the opportunity to collaborate with an artist, which one will be? Which one is your favorite now and you think you are close enough about your music genres?
I have no plans for collaborations yet.. but I would love to do something with Benjamin Clementine.. he is one of my favourite singer of the moment.
